Some of us don’t prefer using old-fashioned clock radios at home or portable alarm clocks to bring with us when we travel. When you need something with the same purpose to wake you up at notify you with an important matter at a particular time, you can use your smartphone, although any Windows 10 device can also accomplish the same task. Windows 10 has a built-in alarm clock app that you can set up and use.
If you want to set an alarm using your Windows device, follow the steps below.
STEP 1: In the Windows search box, type “alarm.”
STEP 2: Click on Alarms & Clock from the search results.
STEP 3: To add a new alarm time, click on the plus icon at the bottom. You can also edit an existing alarm setting by clicking on it.
STEP 4: You can also set the alarm sound, snooze time, number of times for the alarm to repeat, as well as the name of the alarm.
NOTE: These settings are optional and you can skip this step if you prefer.
STEP 5: When you’re done, click the save button (diskette icon) in the lower right corner.
NOTE: On most computers, the alarm screen will say that “Notifications will only show if the PC is awake.” So, in order for your alarm to go off, your computer must be configured to stay awake.
To prevent your computer from sleeping, follow these steps:
STEP 1: Go to the Windows search box, then type in “sleep.”
STEP 2: Click on Power & sleep settings from the search results.
STEP 3: Set the sleep time to Never under When plugged in and/or On battery.
NOTE: If you don’t let it sleep when you’re on battery, your computer could run out of juice.
