Apple Watch owners can now download and install their device’s newest software version, the watchOS 4.1. It now includes support for making person-to-person payments with Apple Pay Cash, as well as improved HomeKit support and a new workout type on the Apple Watch Series 3.
Below are the steps on how to get and install watchOS 4.1 on your Apple Watch:
STEP 1: Check if your iPhone’s software version is running iOS 11 or later.
NOTE: Otherwise, click here for the instructions.
STEP 2: Connect your iPhone to a Wi-Fi network, then launch the iOS 11 Watch app.
STEP 3: Make sure your Apple Watch has at least 50% charge, then connect it to the magnetic charger.
STEP 4: Tap on the My Watch tab.
STEP 5: Tap on General.
STEP 6: Tap on Software Update.
STEP 7: On the next screen, tap on Download and Install at the bottom.
STEP 8: When prompted, enter your iPhone Passcode.
STEP 9: Next, tap on Agree on the Terms and Conditions screen.
STEP 10: Tap Proceed on your Apple Watch to begin the download.
STEP 11: Enter your passcode on your Apple Watch.
NOTE: The watchOS 4.1 update will now download and transfer to your Apple Watch. Once done, Apple Watch will reboot in order to successfully apply the software update. You can monitor the progress of your software update via the Apple Watch’s screen.
