How to Use the Do Not Disturb Feature in iPhone Running iOS 7

The Do Not Disturb feature in iPhone can be used to silence calls, alerts, and notifications. When Do Not Disturb is turned on, calls coming through will go directly to your voice mail. However, you can set exceptions so that alerts can still pass through even if Do Not Disturb is turned on. You can allow calls to ring through from everyone, no one, or from your list of favorites. In addition, you can also enable Repeated Calls so calls can ring through if they were made more than once from a contact who is not on your exception list. To use the Do Not Disturb feature in iPhone running iOS 7, follow the steps below:

I. Enable Do Not Disturb in iPhone

STEP 1: On the Home screen, tap Settings.

STEP 2: Tap Do Not Disturb.

NOTE: A moon icon will appear in the status bar to indicate that Do Not Disturb is enabled.

You can also turn on Do Not Disturb by going to Control Center and tapping the moon icon.

To make changes to your Do Not Disturb settings, follow the steps below:

II. Set Up Do Not Disturb in iPhone

STEP 1: On the Home screen, tap Settings.

STEP 2: Tap Do Not Disturb.

STEP 3: Go to Manual and move the slider from left to right to turn it on. When this is enabled, calls and alerts received while the device is locked will be silenced.

STEP 4: To specify the time when Do Not Disturb will be enabled, go to Scheduled and move the slider from left to right, then tap the arrow pointing to the right to specify the time.

STEP 5: To specify which calls to allow, tap Allow Calls From and select from one of the options (Everyone, No One, Favourites, or specific contact groups stored on your iPhone or your iCloud account).

STEP 6: To allow calls to ring through when someone who is not on the exception list calls you twice within three minutes, go to Repeated Calls and move the slider from left to right.

STEP 7: If you want to always silence all calls and notifications or if you want to silence it only when the iPhone is locked, go to Silence and tap Always.
