OPTION 1: Download a Microsoft Hotfix

OPTION 2: Disable the Automatic Logon Feature

One possible reason why you are encountering this error message is because of Windows’ Automatic Logon feature. To disable this, follow the steps below:

NOTE: Make sure you are logged in as administrator before performing the steps below.

STEP 1: On your keyboard, press the Windows logo + [R] keys to open the Run window.

STEP 2: In the Open field, enter “control userpasswords2″ then click OK.

STEP 3: Under the Users tab, check the Users must enter a username and password to use this computer box.

STEP 4: Click Apply, then OK.
