Once in a while, you need to change the password of your computer. Maybe you shared it with a trusted friend or family member who needed to access local data, or you might not trust that stranger with wandering eyes at the coffee shop. Well, you can easily accomplish that task on a Mac.
Here are the steps on how to change the password of your Mac running on macOS Sierra:
STEP 1: Click on the Apple icon at the upper-left corner menu.
STEP 2: Select System Preferences.
STEP 3: Click on Users & Groups.
STEP 4: Click the Change Password button.
STEP 5: Enter your old password, then enter your new password twice.
STEP 6: Write a hint that would let you (and only you) remember your password.
STEP 7: Once you’re done, click the Change Password button.
STEP 8: Click Continue on the confirm new Mac password prompt.
STEP 9: Click Continue once again.
STEP 10: On the confirmation of your new Mac password to keep using iCloud, click the Continue button as well.
STEP 11: Enter you new password in the Password field, then click OK.
